Mr. Cowan joined TelePacific in 2007 and brings with him a broad range of legal and executive experience. He was a full-time instructor for three years at the UCLA School of Law, a partner in a Los Angeles area law firm, the CEO of a manufacturing company, and most recently the General Counsel of Robert Redford’s Sundance Group of companies. Mr. Cowan is a cum laude graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (B.S. Econ. 1969) and the University of Michigan Law School (J.D. 1972). He is a past Chair of the Corporate Law Departments Section (“CLDS”) of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and a past Chair and current member of the Board of Governors of the Institute for Corporate Counsel, a joint project of the CLDS and the Law School of the University of Southern California. He has previously served on numerous charitable Boards.
Originally from Buffalo, New York, Mr. Cowan has resided since 1972 in Los Angeles, where he and his wife have raised their three children. In the summer of 2009, with his two daughters, Mr. Cowan backpacked the 220 mile John Muir Trail from Yosemite to Mt. Whitney.
Mr. Cowan’s position at TelePacific includes responsibilities in all major functions of the company. In 2010, Mr. Cowan was promoted to corporate Secretary.
