Mr. Cassity oversees the Integration Program Management
Office for TelePacific and is leading the charge to integrate the operations
functions of Mpower and TelePacific.
His career experience includes over 30 years of senior management and
executive level positions with public and private companies. Most recently,
Mr. Cassity was CEO of Birch Telecom, a privately held $300M telecommunications
company. Prior to that Mr. Cassity served as President and Chief Operating Officer
of NuVox Communications, a privately held $150M telecommunications company. In
these roles he was instrumental in raising private equity, restructuring debt,
leading post-merger integration activities, building world-class leadership teams
in sales, network operations, information technology and technology planning
and management.
Prior to joining NuVox Communications, Mr. Cassity spent over 25 years with
Bellsouth Corporation where he steadily rose through the ranks in multiple
disciplines to the position of Vice President of Network Operations responsible
for an organization of 17,000 employees, and $1.76B in financial contribution for
the wholesale business unit. During his tenure at BellSouth he served in a number
of executive positions including human resources and labor relations, regulatory and
public affairs, strategic planning, financial management and led the company’s
reengineering program.
Mr. Cassity received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kentucky
and a M.B.A. from the University of Louisville. He attended The Program for Senior Executives
at Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management and is a
registered Professional Engineer.
