1. Define TelePacific's Web hosting service?
The service of providing a designated amount of space for a specific
domain name on TelePacific's web server for customers to post their
website.
2. What ftp host (site) would I
use to upload my website? This depends on the web server
you are provisioned on, please refer to the original email that
was sent to you when your services were setup. If you do not have
the ftp access email previously sent to you, please refer to our
Web Hosting Customer
Tools page.
3. How much server space will we
get for the website? 30 MB, more space is available a
la carte.
4. Will a customer's website automatically
transfer/port-over to TPAC? No, you will need to follow
the ftp access instructions that were sent via email to the designated
technical contact when the service was provisioned. This information
provides login information for uploading to TelePacific's web server.
5. Will I have downtime with my
website when my domain transfers? TelePacific will continue
to point to your current web hosting provider until you have notified
us that you have uploaded and tested your website. Once complete,
your DNS records will be redirected to TelePacific’s web server.
6. How long will it take to transfer
a customer’s web services? Whether we are hosting
your domain or your domain is hosted elsewhere, once you have uploaded
your website you must call your domain-name hosting company to change
the "A" record. Once the "A" record is updated,
it will take up to 48 hours for the Internet to see your uploaded
website.
7. Who is responsible for uploading
the website? The customer.
8. Does TelePacific support Microsoft
Frontpage? Yes, please let the Customer Care Representative
know your website has been created using FrontPage. The Representative
will make a note in your order notifying the Web provisioning group
to provision your service on a server that supports FrontPage extensions.
9. Does TelePacific provide web
designing? No.
10. What kind of web servers to
you run? IIS 5.0
11. How can customers reach the
DNS/EML/WHS group? Please call TelePacific's Customer Technical
Support Center at 877-487-8349 and select option #2 for technical
assistance.
12. Can customers have their own
web server? Yes.
13. How do I disconnect my web
services with TelePacific? When services with the new provider
have been setup, you will need to call our Customer Care group at
877-487-8349 and select option #4 to disconnect web hosting services
with TelePacific.
